Substitute Educational Assitant

Position Overview:  To perform instructional duties, supervision duties, and clerical duties in support of lead daycare staff. 

Essential Job Functions:
 

1. Prepare lesson materials as directed
2. Oversee group activities as directed.
3. Instruct small groups of children under the direction of a teacher.
4. Run errands
5. Score tests, written work, and record scores as directed.
6. Assist teacher with student activities.
7. Other duties as assigned

 
Other Job Functions:
 

1. Supervise student cafeteria and lunchroom activities.
2. Supervise student outside the classroom.
3. Other related tasks as directed.

 
Qualifications:
 
Knowledge of:

1. Maintaining harmonious working relationship with coworkers & staff
2. Working with children.
3. General knowledge of office equipment.
4. Word processing skills

 
Ability To:
 

1. Follow oral and written instructions.
2. Maintain confidentiality.
3. Maintain composure in stressful situations.
4. Be well groomed and maintain an appropriate appearance.

 
Experience:
 

1. Prior classroom assistant experience desired.

 
Physical Requirements:
 
In an eight-hour day, employee may

1. Stand/Walk 5-6 Hours
2. Drive 1-2 Hours
3. Sit 3-4 Hours
4. Stoop/Squat/Bend 1-2 Hours
5. Lift/Carry 1-2 Hours      Up to a weight of     50 lbs
6. Climb Stairs Occasionally
7. Use hands for repetitive motions Frequently
8. Use feet for repetitive movements Frequently
