Position Summary
District Photo is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement & Logistics Intern to support our Procurement team during the summer. This internship offers hands-on experience in purchasing, supplier management, logistics coordination, data analysis, and supply chain operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The intern will work closely with procurement and logistics professionals to support day-to-day operations while gaining valuable exposure to sourcing, inventory management, transportation, vendor relations, and cost-reduction initiatives.

Founded in 1949 by Melvin Cohen as a small black & white photo lab, the business grew during the last half of the 20th century into a large wholesale photofinishing lab serving mid-Atlantic retailers and a national mail order film business. In the late 1990's under Neil Cohen’s leadership, DPI acquired a photo business in the UK and has transitioned from a mid-Atlantic film developing lab to multiple state-of-the-art digital labs shipping millions of photos worldwide every day.

Responsibilities
- Assist with purchase order creation, entry, and tracking for maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) materials and supplies.
- Support supplier communications, follow-up activities, and order expediting.
- Monitor inbound and outbound shipments and coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and vendors.
- Track delivery schedules and assist with logistics issue resolution.
- Maintain procurement and supplier data within District Photo's ERP system (Business Central).
- Assist with spend analysis, pricing reviews, freight reporting, KPI tracking, and cost-savings initiatives.
- Support documentation requirements related to imports, tariffs, shipping compliance, and vendor records.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and procurement-related documentation.
- Assist with inventory and supply chain projects as assigned.
- Provide general administrative support to the Procurement & Logistics team.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Management, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in procurement, supply chain, logistics, or operations management.
- Previous internship, coursework, or project experience related to supply chain or procurement.
- Experience working with ERP systems or data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with inventory management, purchasing processes, or logistics operations.
- Hands-on experience supporting procurement and supply chain operations in a manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to supplier management, transportation logistics, inventory planning, and cost-control initiatives.
- Experience working with ERP systems and business reporting tools.
