Job Description
District School Guidance Counselor
This position requires Arizona School Counselor Certification.
Purpose
We are looking for a professional School Counselor to help students prepare for academic achievement, ensure career readiness and develop personal or social competencies through a comprehensive, preventive and developmental counseling program. The goal is to ensure that students will become productive and well-adjusted adults. The job includes working with all three schools in the school district to accomplish this goal.

- Working knowledge of various counseling models, practices and resources
- Ability to collect and analyze data
- MA degree in School Counseling
Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish a school wide tiered model to prevent and address behavior problems
- Coordinate with and support regular education program teachers about behavior and how to help individual students find academic success
- Coordinate and integrate Federal, State, and local services and programs such as violence prevention programs, nutrition programs, etc.
- Provide opportunities for services for students’ mental and physical health
- Provide courses that allow students to become well-adjusted adults
- Coordinate with administrators to establish plans for improvement
- Conduct group or individual counseling sessions to assist student with problems or concerns
- Evaluate the progress of students and reinforce the sense of accomplishment
- Complete assessments and tests, analyze results and provide feedback
- Provide training for teachers and staff on mental health
- Work with individual students and teachers on a one on one basis
Salary will be based upon Certifications/Experience in accordance with district salary scale.
