Fiscal Analyst
Description: The school district fiscal analyst manages financial resources primarily the district’s
capital and building program and provides budget analytics to the Assistant
Superintendent for Finance. Key duties include financial and budget forecasting,
expenditure control, and compliance.
Qualifications: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related
field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred)
At least three to eight years of progressive experience in governmental accounting, financial
planning, or public school business management
Strong knowledge of governmental accounting standards (GASB), automated financial
software systems, and public education funding formulas
Responsibilities: Prepares the capital and building program budgets and special revenue budgets under the
Assistant Superintendent for Finance
Reconciles actual vs. projected expenditures, tracks fund balances, and identifies budget
variances
Ensures adherence to local, state and federal financial guidelines
Advises the school construction team, school principals, department heads, and
administrators on fund allocation, purchasing processes, and budget adjustments
Contract Length: 240 days
Salary: Spartanburg School District Six Administrative Supervisory Salary Scale
