Responsibilities:
The District has a full-time opening for an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) in the Civil Division. The position is a general defensive litigation position. Accordingly, the individual selected will be responsible for handling a heavy civil caseload involving a wide variety of federal cases, including common law torts, medical malpractice, constitutional torts (Bivens), and employment discrimination.Applicants will be expected to do their own legal research and writing and will be substantially self-sufficient in preparing day-to-day correspondence and pleadings. Applicants must also demonstrate excellent computer literacy skills to include experience with e-discovery and e-litigation platforms, electronic court filing, and e-mail and word processing systems.
