General Summary: A licensed registered nurse working to assist the public and serve their needs in the areas of Reproductive Health, Communicable Disease, Immunizations, Children’s Special Health Care, Women, Infants & Children (WIC), and other Health Department services. Reports to Nurse Director and public health practice is under Medical Director.
Duties:
- Providing skilled nursing care to individuals/families with their needs in office, via tele-health,occasionally in home and off-site.
- Complete and maintain accurate, adequate, timely and secured records in computer software productssuch as Microsoft Office, Electronic Medical Records software, and similar products.
- Meets Accreditation standards of all public health programs, and works on a multi-disciplinary team.
- Utilize effective communication and conflict resolution skills to serve clientele in a tactful, objective, andrespectful manner while maintaining privacy and HIPAA compliance.
- Ability to respond to emergent public health threats such as Avian influenza, outbreaks, and naturaldisaster.
Requirements:
- Current license to practice as a registered nurse in Michigan.
- Ability to provide services to vulnerable populations in a culturally competent and non-judgmental manner.
- Valid Michigan driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Excellent communication & organizational skills.
- Fluent in English. Additional languages beneficial.
Salary: $25.46 per hour starting wage, increasing to $26.93 upon successful probation period in accordance with current Union contract plus full benefit package.
$26.25 per hour starting wage, increasing to $27.67 for Bachelor prepared RN.
