The Montrose District Attorney’s Office is seeking a professional, organized, and dependable individual to join our team as a Legal Services / Victim Services / Evidence Technician. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the criminal justice system while working with victims, the public, law enforcement agencies, attorneys, and court personnel.

Responsibilities

Legal Services

• Prepare weekend advisements.
• Assist with legal filings, case handling, and electronic filing.
• Answer telephones and greet visitors.
• Coordinate with court and law enforcement personnel.
  
  

Victim Services

• Assist victims throughout the criminal justice process.
• Provide support and assistance with filing protection orders.
  
  

Evidence Services

• Review, analyze, organize, manage, and request evidence for Sex Offense felony cases.
• Assist with preparing cases for trial.
  
  

Qualifications

• Excellent word-processing and computer skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Professional demeanor and ability to work effectively with the public and a variety of justice-system professionals.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
• Strong teamwork skills and attention to detail.
• Legal or criminal justice experience preferred but not required.
  
  

Position Details

• Full-time: 40 hours per week
• Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
• Start: Immediately
• Pay: $22.00-$26.50/hour DOQ
