Position Overview
The School Resource Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure school environment through visible presence, proactive patrol, incident prevention, access control, emergency response, and professional interaction with students, parents, faculty, and administrators.
Because this position involves working in and around school-aged juveniles, we are seeking individuals with high integrity, emotional maturity, strong communication skills, and excellent decision-making ability.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional armed security presence on assigned school campus
- Patrol school grounds, parking lots, entry points, and surrounding areas
- Building rapport with students
- Monitor and control campus access to help prevent unauthorized entry
- Observe, report, and respond appropriately to suspicious activity, disturbances, and emergencies
- Build professional working relationships with school staff, administrators, students, and parents
- Assist with morning arrival, dismissal, lunch periods, special events, and high-traffic campus activities
- Prepare accurate, timely, and detailed incident reports and daily activity logs
- Respond to emergencies, alarms, medical incidents, and safety concerns in accordance with company policy and post orders
- De-escalate conflicts using professionalism, calm communication, and sound judgment
- Enforce school safety policies and security procedures while maintaining a respectful approach
- Operate patrol vehicles safely and professionally when assigned
- Represent District & Charter Patrol with the highest standards of appearance, conduct, and accountability
- Miscellaneous duties may be added at any time
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid California Guard Card
- Valid California Exposed Firearm Permit
- Baton Permit and Pepper Spray Permit preferred, if applicable
- Current and valid California Driver License
- Clean driving history required
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum [1–3] years of recent private security, law enforcement, military, campus safety, or related experience preferred
- Strong report writing and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- Ability to work around juveniles in a school setting with maturity, professionalism, and sound judgment
- Must pass background screening and any site-specific clearance requirements
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance required
- Be able to lift 15-20 pounds as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in school security, campus safety, juvenile environments, or public safety
- Strong de-escalation and conflict resolution skills
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification
- Experience working with diverse communities
- Professional demeanor with a firm but approachable presence
- Knowledge of school safety procedures and emergency response protocols
