What are the responsibilities and job description for the A/P Supervisor position at Distribution Management?
Reporting to the Controller and located in our St. Charles, MO Headquarters, the Accounts Payable Supervisor will:
- Develop, lead, and supervise an accounts payable team of three
- Develop continual process improvements for efficiency and cross-functional knowledge sharing
- Provide department oversight for the monthly close process around payables, including assisting with accruals and audit requests
- Monitor for discount opportunities on vendor invoices, reconcile, and resolve discrepancies
- Lead quarterly vendor reviews with the AP team to ensure timely resolution of open items
- Assist in managing the vendor relationship, including addressing vendor and departmental inquiries and negotiating as needed on open balances
- Partner with the Controller and other departmental leads to drive efficient working capital management
- Develop KPIs to track and improve departmental and company performance
- Provide oversight and reconcile payments for rebates/allowances on a monthly/quarterly basis
- Reconcile, code, and enter invoices for inventory and other miscellaneous vendors into the A/P system
- Special projects as needed by the Controller

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration
- Minimum 5 years of accounts payable or accounting experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience managing or supervising a team.
- Experience maintaining outside vendor relationships
- Ability to collaborate and partner with other departments, including strong communication skills
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures withinthe scope of responsibility
- Highly organized, detail-oriented professional
- Self-starter and quick learner
- Strong problem-solving/analytical skills
- Flexibility
- Strong knowledge of Excel and Outlook
- Works well under deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
