Dispatcher

Seeking talented, hard-working front-line hourly supervisor professionals to join the Distribution Logistics (DSTL) team in Springfield, VA .

DSTL is a Delivery Service Partner (DSP) for AmazonZL.

Must have open availability to include mornings, nights and weekends!

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Hourly Supervisor / Dispatcher Position is responsible for supervising the activities of 50 delivery personnel.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the general management of delivery staff :

Maintain employee / driver relations and customer expectations through daily meetings; maintain open communication by answering questions and explaining policies and procedures;

submit and respond to ideas to improve employee / driver engagement and performance.

• Evaluate service levels to ensure they exceed customer's satisfaction. Consistently enforce company policies and procedures.
• Coordinate training, conduct employee / driver observations, up-date preferred work methods, conduct accident investigations to determine root causes, and routine safety inspections.
• Make recommendations for disciplinary action and / or behavior modification as required. Perform management functions of driver selection, development, discipline, performance reviews and / or terminations.
• Perform the duties of subordinates and other related duties as needed.

Professional Skills :

• The ability to speak Spanish in addition to English is a PLUS!
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business data, technical procedures, and safety regulations; Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals;

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, etc.

Ability to problem solve and deal with situations where limited standardization exists. Demonstrate knowledge of Spreadsheet software (Excel) and Word Processing software, and ability to learn new and customized technology software and programs.

Must have strong computer skills.

• Ability to successfully engage and lead individual and team discussions and meetings.
• Ability to apply all relevant policies in a consistent, timely and objective manner.
• Capable of working with associates from other operating companies and the Corporate Office in a proactive and constructive manner.
• Ability to manage the pressures and stress associated with a deadline-oriented atmosphere and customer service issues.
• Demonstrates skill in making independent decisions in support of company policies and procedures in a timely manner.

What are the basic requirements?

• Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid drivers’ license
• Must be available to work any day, any time
• Must be able to to operate and navigate a Sprinter Style Delivery Van
• Must be able to move boxes up to 75 lbs.
• Must have prior supervisory experience of employees, in a similar environment or industry preferred
• Must have a very safe driving record (No DUI / DWI / Reckless / Suspension)
• Must have great communication skills and the ability to work well with customers
• Must read, write, and speak English
