Delivery Driver-Hiring ASAP!!

Distribution Logistics (DSTL) is a local leader in transportation and logistics, and we are growing AGAIN! We currently have opportunities for individuals that enjoy driving to join our fleet of professional van drivers. We are currently hiring drivers to drive company cargo vans out of Springfield, VA and deliver packages for a large internet retailer.

• This is a VERY HIGH ENERGY and PHYSICALLY FAST PACED delivery position averaging 250 deliveries per route each day within planned time. You will be in/out of the van 250 times daily, traverse to and from customer property 250 times daily, and potentially climb up/down 5 flights of stair delivering parcels.

Shifts start at 10:30am daily and generally run for 10 hours.

Requires flexible availability each week- must be available to work a Saturday or Sunday, but you will only be scheduled one of those according to business needs. Drivers are normally scheduled to work 4 days each week.

What does a Delivery Driver Associate do?

• Drives a delivery van to drop off packages to customers within local communities
• Commonly works 4 days a week
• Typical working days average 10 hours
• Follows strict safety standards on and off the road Interacts with customers and the public in a professional and positive manner
• Uses handheld technology to manage the delivery process

What are the basic requirements?

• Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid standard drivers license
• Must be able to operate and navigate a delivery van (or similar); 1 years experience preferred
• Must be able to move individual parcels up to 50 lbs. & grouped parcels up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to easily get in and out of the van
• Must have a very safe driving record
• Must read, write, and speak English
