Material Handler Chemicals- 1st Shift - Production Environment

Responsible for filling and packaging of products, such as paints, gelcoats, chemicals, etc., as directed in a Manufacturing/Production environment. Responsible for delivering packaged product to the proper staging area for shipment. Responsible for moving around finished product and loading and unloading empty receptacles.

DUTIES

1. Proper handling and packaging of flammable materials

2. Maintain good housekeeping of the assigned areas

3. Assist in consolidating hazardous waste drums as needed

4. Ability to operate a sit down forklift.

5. Other tasks and duties as assigned by management

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, & ABILITIES

1. Knowledge of chemical handling and safety requirements

2. Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and process

3. Complete understanding of packaging and labeling requirements

4. Good listening skills

5. Knowledge of packaging and labeling requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

* Must be able to match numbers quickly and accurately

* Take pride in delivering excellent customer service

* Thrive in a busy, fast-paced Production environment

* Ability to work closely with others in a team environment

* 1 years’ experience in production/warehouse environment

* Forklift Certification-Preferred
* HS graduate required
* Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is routinely required to: sit, walk, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, stretch and use hands to; finger, handle, and feel. Employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The vision requirements include: close visions, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This position also requires the ability to work under deadlines.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions which includes; heat, humidity, cold, and wet. The employee is occasionally exposed to; fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Full Time Position - Monday thru Friday - 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM

Pay

In accordance with California’s labor code, the expected salary/hourly range for this position is between $20.00 and $23.00 per hour. A new hire’s actual pay will be determined based on experience, skillset, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
