Position Summary:
Warehouse Manager manages the overall planning, organizing, and operations of a distribution center. Oversees all distribution functions, including order processing, picking, packaging, shipping, and receiving. WM monitors inventory levels to ensure sufficient levels to fulfill all orders. Balances workloads as needed to achieve production and delivery goals for each shift. Additionally, Warehouse Manager utilizes software, data, and analytics to optimize operations, track production metrics, and anticipate and resolve problems. Provides the necessary equipment, tools, and training to staff to ensure safe, secure, and efficient operations. Complies with all OSHA and other regulations, policies, safety procedures, and documentation requirements. May evaluate and select transportation or freight services, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relations. The Warehouse Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Supervise daily warehouse and shipping operations, including training of employees, routing, inventory, quality assurance, dispatching, documentation, compliance, and other assistance as needed to ensure seamless daily operations.
· Develop, implement, and maintain documentation for all policies, processes, and procedures in the supply chain, logistics and freight management area to ensure consistent practices and maintain efficiencies and economies of scale; ensure documentation is up-to-date and easy to access.
· Build and track cost and productivity metrics and KPIs to drive cost savings, service improvements, and progress toward operational targets.
· Develop and oversee processes for management of transportation initiatives, including liaising between transport companies, negotiating contracts, coordinating deliveries and enforcing deadlines, implementing 3PL onboarding programs, sourcing new carriers, and ensuring compliance
· Onboard and train internal team members, including shipping and warehouse personnel. Supervise and train external partners, such as Customs Broker, on internal policies as needed.
· Oversee and audit compliance and recordkeeping programs and facilitate timely delivery and accuracy of required paperwork and documentation, including CBP records, classification programs, import/export compliance, supply chain security laws, PGA requirements, quotes, transportation contracts, LTL/FTL shipment tracking, customs bonds, and customs duty payments.
· Work cross-functionally with other teams to explain and enhance logistics operations, systems, and data; add customs valuation expertise and support for supply chain and import/export cross-functional discussions.
· Support corporate Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program.
· Evaluate and assess existing business systems and processes with the role to identify, recommend, and implement procedural changes with the goal of minimizing inefficiencies and implementing cost-saving measures.
· Manage inventory control to minimize theft and damages, ensure proper storage and rotation, and verify proper packaging and handling procedures.
Requirements and skills
· Proven working experience as a Logistics Manager
· Record of successful distribution and logistics management
· Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff
· Proficient in standard logistics software
· Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills
· Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
