The Ideal Candidate
We're searching for an organized and detail-oriented communicator who is passionate about national security and ready to launch their career as our Account Coordinator. In this role, you'll provide essential support to account managers and work directly with key clients on day-to-day account activities.
To be successful in this role, you need to be the type of person who takes ownership and deeply cares about the success of the place you work, and the clients you serve. You must be comfortable jumping into new sectors and getting up to speed quickly, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Above all, we need someone with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude who is ready to jump in and help with whatever is needed to ensure client success—no task is too big or too small.
- Coordinate meeting scheduling, maintain calendars, and ensure all team members and clients are properly informed of upcoming commitments.
- Take detailed notes during client meetings, internal strategy sessions, and conference calls, then distribute meeting summaries and action items.
- Assist in setting up new client accounts, file organization, and communication systems setup.
- Conduct industry research on competitors, trends, media contacts, and potential opportunities for clients in the federal space.
- Support the development of communication and marketing materials such as press releases, fact sheets, social media content, and email campaigns.
- Assist with content creation and scheduling across platforms, ensuring alignment with the overall brand messaging.
- Help manage email marketing campaigns and social media accounts using tools such as HubSpot and Sprout Social.
- Maintain and update media lists, contact databases, and tracking spreadsheets.
- Support drafting blog posts and social media content under the guidance of senior team members.
- Monitor and compile marketing metrics and media coverage for client reporting.
- Make minor updates and edits to client websites using WordPress.
- Provide event support, including vendor and venue research, logistics coordination, attendee tracking, material preparation, and on-site assistance for government conferences and industry events.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as invoice tracking, expense reporting, and file management.
- A minimum of 2-4 years of communications, marketing, public relations, or related experience. Federal government, public sector, or government contracting experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
- Basic familiarity with marketing tools and platforms (CRM systems, social media platforms, content management systems).
- Experience with tools like HubSpot, Sprout Social, WordPress, and Google Analytics.
- Strong research skills and ability to quickly synthesize information.
- Detail-oriented with excellent proofreading and editing abilities.
- Ability to take clear, comprehensive meeting notes and follow up on action items.
- Willing to step in and support the team and client whenever needed.
- Comfortable working with remote teams across multiple time zones.
- Collaborative by nature and motivated to continue learning.
- Interest in the federal sector and government contracting landscape, with a willingness to develop subject matter expertise.
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance.
- A quiet, distraction-free environment for on-camera meetings during standard working hours.
At the core, we are looking for a team player who will jump in and do whatever is needed for the success of the client and our agency. This hire will play an important role in supporting the growth and success of our agency. This is the second agency our owner has started, selling her first agency, Leverage PR, after successfully scaling it. She is looking to grow and scale another firm and is looking for an organized, motivated professional to join her team.
While this is a full-time W-2 position, we are open to part-time or 1099 contractors for the right fit.
