35 hour weeks outside busy season.

At Manager level, when you've probably done your fair share of 50, 60 and sometimes much longer weeks over the years, that starts to sound pretty good.

This is a 40 person CPA firm in Warrington looking for a Tax Manager with a strong nonprofit background.

Nonprofit is a big part of what they do, so they're ideally looking for someone who's comfortable with 990s and can take ownership of those client relationships. If you've got 990PF experience too, even better.

There's other work in the mix as well, including family owned businesses, service companies, insurance and manufacturing, so you won't necessarily spend every day in the nonprofit world.

The hours are a big selling point here.

Outside busy season, 35 hours is normal.

September and October are closer to 40, with around 55 to 60 hours for roughly 8 weeks during the main busy season.

It's also genuinely flexible and hybrid. You'll need to be local enough to see clients and come into the office when needed, but they're not interested in having you sitting at a desk for the sake of it.

There's a longer term opportunity here too.

The firm continues to pick up new clients and they need experienced people coming through behind the current Partner group.

If Partnership is something you want eventually, there's room for that. If it isn't, nobody is going to start planning your life for you.

This could be a really good fit if you enjoy nonprofit tax and client work, but would quite like a bit more of your time back outside busy season.
