Tax Director
White Plains, NY (or Manhattan, Long Island)
A growing, forward-thinking 25-person CPA firm across New York and New Jersey is looking to hire a Tax Manager with strong experience across partnership tax, real estate and closely held businesses.
The firm has built a strong client base while retaining the feel of a smaller practice — less hierarchy, direct access to the Partners and the opportunity to have a genuine influence on both clients and the development of the tax team.
They are looking for someone who wants more than simply managing compliance work. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of clients, get involved in complex planning and advisory work and continue progressing towards Senior Manager, Director and ultimately Partner.
The Role
- Manage a portfolio of partnership, real estate and commercial clients
- Review complex 1065 partnership returns
- Review K-1s, partner allocations and capital accounts
- Work with real estate partnerships, operating partnerships and closely held businesses
- Get involved in year-round tax planning and advisory work
- Manage client relationships directly
- Review work prepared by Seniors and Associates
- Mentor and develop junior members of the team
- Work closely with the firm's Partners on more complex technical matters
- Play an active role in the continued development and growth of the tax practice
