What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Tax Manager position at Distinct | North America?
Senior Tax Manager | Hollywood
Imagine spending the next four years building towards something you actually get to own, rather than just another promotion and a slightly bigger bonus.
One of the Partners at this established CPA firm is preparing to retire within the next 4 years, and they're looking for someone who can eventually step into their shoes.
Not someone who needs to bring millions in business with them or spend the next decade proving themselves. Just a technically strong Senior Tax Manager who's ambitious, good with clients and ready to start thinking beyond managing a portfolio.
The clients are already there, the firm is successful and the succession plan is already in motion.
You'll work closely with the existing Partners, gradually taking on more responsibility, developing client relationships and becoming a key part of the firm's leadership.
And you won't have to sacrifice your entire life to prove you deserve a seat at the table.
The firm has a loyal client base, a close knit team and a refreshingly straightforward approach to management. You're trusted to do your job, given the freedom to make decisions and encouraged to bring your own ideas.
No micromanagement, unnecessary corporate politics or endless layers of approval.
As Senior Tax Manager, you'll oversee complex engagements, manage key client relationships, mentor staff and become a trusted technical resource as you prepare for the next step.
Experience Required:
- Extensive experience preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, including 1040, 1120S, 1065, 1120 and 1041.
- Strong trust and estate tax experience.
- Experience working with real estate clients.
- M&A tax experience, including purchase price allocations and Form 8594.
- Experience with S Corporation M&A transactions.
- Knowledge of Section 1202 and Qualified Small Business Stock (QSBS) transactions.
- Experience with foreign tax matters, including GILTI.
You'll also need to enjoy the people side of the job. Building relationships, developing staff and being someone others naturally turn to for advice.
There's competitive compensation, strong benefits and flexibility, but the biggest attraction is the opportunity to become Partner within four years, with an established client base already waiting for you.
If you're already a Senior Tax Manager, you probably don't need another job that looks exactly like the one you've got now, just with a different firm's name on your email signature.
You need something worth moving for. And this could be it.
