Litigation Attorney, General Liability Defense | Jacksonville, FL | $125,000 to $200,000 | General Liability Defense
Jacksonville covers more ground than any other city in the continental United States. General liability defense covers almost as much: a fall in a grocery aisle, a shooting in an apartment parking lot, a defective product, an accident on a job site. Variety is the whole appeal, provided you're the one deciding how each case is run.
I'm Ryan Jaiswal at Distinct Recruitment, and I'm hiring a general liability defense attorney in Jacksonville for a client firm. Hybrid working, a broad salary band and the kind of autonomy that experienced litigators want and rarely get.
Here's the role in practical terms:
• You'll handle premises liability, negligent security, products and commercial general liability claims
• You'll own your files and set the strategy, with partners available for advice rather than hovering
• You'll take the depositions that matter, including corporate representatives and liability experts
• You'll argue your own motions and attend your own hearings
• You'll prepare cases for trial and try them, first chair when you're ready
• You'll report directly to adjusters and build relationships with insured clients
What I'm looking for:
• 2 years of Florida civil litigation experience, insurance defense ideally
• Florida Bar license
• Someone who prefers being trusted to being supervised
And what's on the table:
• $125,000 to $200,000, depending on experience
• 1,900 billable hours
• Hybrid, based in Jacksonville
• Progression toward partnership
The range is wide on purpose. A seasoned attorney or counsel will be paid for that experience and given more to do with it: larger files, first chair trials, mentoring associates and a growing client following. The role doesn't top out at a particular class year.
