General Liability Attorney | Albany, NY (Hybrid)

$110,000–$190,000 Base, Depending on Experience

Distinct is partnering with an established, multi-practice law firm looking to expand its General Liability team in Albany, New York.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with general liability experience who is looking for high-quality litigation work, greater responsibility, and a clear path for continued career progression — all within a supportive and collaborative firm offering hybrid flexibility.

The firm is open to considering attorneys at different levels of experience, from those looking to take the next step in their litigation career through to more experienced attorneys capable of independently managing a sophisticated caseload.

The Role

You’ll handle a varied general liability caseload and work closely with experienced attorneys and clients throughout the lifecycle of each matter.

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing general liability matters from inception through resolution
• Conducting legal research and developing case strategy
• Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery responses, legal correspondence, and other substantive documents
• Taking and defending depositions
• Attending court appearances, conferences, mediations, and hearings
• Negotiating settlements and advising clients throughout the litigation process
• Managing deadlines and maintaining regular communication with clients
• Collaborating with partners and the wider litigation team on complex matters

What We’re Looking For

• 2 years of general liability litigation experience
• Experience managing cases through various stages of the litigation lifecycle
• Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills
• Deposition and court appearance experience is highly desirable
• Ability to manage a caseload independently while working collaboratively within a team
• Admission to the New York Bar is required
• New Jersey, Connecticut, and/or Pennsylvania Bar admission is a plus
