SUMMARY:
The Field Services Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all field operations and installation activities related to millwork projects. This role combines hands-on operational leadership with strategic oversight to ensure safe, high-quality installations, strong financial performance, and consistent client satisfaction across all field-executed projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute the long-term strategy for the Field Services function, ensuring alignment with company goals, project demands, and client expectations.
- Manage and monitor departmental budgets and oversee project-level profit and loss for all field services work.
- Establish standardized installation practices, safety procedures, and quality controls across all job sites.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for field-related issues, coordinating with internal leaders and clients to resolve concerns promptly.
- Evaluate, recommend, and support the implementation of field service tools, systems, and technologies to improve efficiency, reporting, and accountability.
- Supervise, train, and manage field service teams and subcontractors, including performance management and workforce planning.
- Coordinate daily and weekly job schedules, ensuring proper staffing, sequencing, and readiness for all installations.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to verify compliance with project specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
- Provide technical guidance and hands-on support to resolve installation challenges and on-site issues.
- Enforce compliance with company policies, OSHA standards, and all applicable safety regulations.
- Monitor project progress, labor utilization, and costs, ensuring accurate documentation, daily reports, timecards, and work orders.
- Collaborate closely with Project Management, Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to support seamless project execution.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises field service technicians and installation crews. Indirectly supervises subcontractors engaged in millwork installation projects. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable employment laws.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in field operations within commercial millwork, architectural woodworking, or construction.
- Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or management experience with budget or profit and loss responsibility.
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, and project specifications.
- Solid understanding of commercial millwork installation methods, construction sequencing, and job site coordination.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management capabilities.
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Sound financial judgment and business awareness.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with field teams and senior leadership.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50 percent or more, as needed.
