Job Summary:
ABC News Studios, a non-fiction studio within ABC News, is seeking a dynamic Production Associate to join our team. As a Production Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting projects across all aspects of longform production. You will contribute to the creation of premium narrative non-fiction, documentaries, series and specials on topics spanning true crime, investigations, pop culture and news-adjacent stories. ABC News Studios delivers programming for prominent platforms such as Hulu, ABC Network, Disney , and National Geographic.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with producers to gather production elements, including video, audio, and still images.
- Ingest video content into the server for seamless integration into projects.
- Work closely with editors, providing essential support to ensure the smooth progression of productions.
- Demonstrate creativity and initiative by pitching compelling story ideas.
- Coordinate and organize field shoots
- Log video and editorial information.
- Conduct thorough research, reporting, and editorial content management under tight deadline pressures.
- Collaborate closely with the Legal department and Rights and Clearances team to ensure that all video, images, and audio content are cleared for broadcast.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be willing to work flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale productions within challenging deadline constraints.
- Ability to transition between long-term projects and breaking news longform feature narratives as required.
- Enterprising, resourceful, and collaborative, with a knack for thriving in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Conscientious, self-motivated, and proactive attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Previous experience in news or documentary production.
- Familiarity with archival and digital resources.
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

The hiring range for this position in New York is $46,600- $64,130 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
