Duties
- Develop clear, persuasive grant proposals and contract bids tailored to funders’ requirements, including government agencies and nonprofit foundations
- Conduct thorough research on potential funding sources, including databases like Raiser's Edge and other CRM systems
- Manage and update bid-related databases to ensure accurate tracking of submissions, deadlines, and outcomes
- Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary content, data, and supporting documents for proposals
- Edit and proofread proposal drafts for clarity, accuracy, and professionalism while ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- Assist in strategic planning for fundraising campaigns by preparing financial reports, budgets, and program development documents
- Maintain comprehensive records of all bid activities, correspondence, and contract documentation in compliance with organizational policies
Experience
- Proven experience in proposal writing, grant applications, or contract management within nonprofit or community organization settings
- Familiarity with fundraising strategies involving government agencies and nonprofit foundations
- Strong knowledge of databases such as Raiser's Edge or similar CRM platforms for managing donor information and fundraising data
- Demonstrated ability to research funding opportunities effectively using online resources and databases
- Excellent technical writing skills with an eye for detail in editing and content editing tasks
- Experience with nonprofit program development, strategic planning, budgeting, and financial report writing is highly desirable
- Prior experience working with nonprofit community organizations or within the nonprofit sector enhances understanding of mission-driven initiatives
