Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate lower elementary school teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing learning environment that promotes childhood development and academic growth. This role involves designing engaging lesson plans, managing classroom activities, and supporting students’ individual needs in the lower elementary school setting. Experience with curriculum development and behavior management is highly valued. Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and student needs, including literacy education, math, physical education, and other core subjects.
- Manage classroom activities to ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment conducive to learning for children of diverse backgrounds.
- Utilize effective classroom management techniques to promote positive behavior and support individual student development.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and observations; adjust instruction accordingly to meet learning goals.
- Support early intervention strategies for children requiring additional assistance in areas such as speech, behavior management, or special education needs.
- Foster strong communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Incorporate various teaching methodologies or specialized techniques to enhance learning experiences.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and developmental milestones.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum materials and participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Special Education, or related field.
- A teaching credential/licensure through the state of Ohio
- Experience working with children across different age groups including toddlers, preschoolers, or early elementary students.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management strategies, and classroom management techniques.
- Familiarity with curriculum development and lesson planning.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learner needs; experience with private schools is desirable.
