Duties
- Implement lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher, ensuring continuity of instruction across subjects such as literacy, math, science, and social studies
- Manage classroom behavior effectively using established behavior management strategies to foster a respectful and productive learning environment
- Facilitate student engagement through interactive teaching methods
- Adapt instructional approaches to meet the diverse needs of students from various cultural backgrounds and with different learning abilities
- Communicate regularly with school staff, including teachers and administrators, to report on student progress and classroom activities
- Uphold school policies, mandated reporting laws, and confidentiality standards while maintaining a safe environment for all students
- Support classroom routines such as attendance, transitions, and childcare responsibilities for preschool or early childhood classes
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff
- Ability to work independently while following established school policies and procedures
- Understanding of childhood development principles and experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds are desireable
- Experience in private school settings is a plus
