What are the responsibilities and job description for the Science Teacher's Aide (TA) position at Discovery Ranch South?
Discovery Ranch South is dedicated to fostering an enriching educational environment within our therapeutic treatment center for young women. We are currently seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Science Teacher's Aide (TA) to support our educational team in delivering engaging and effective science instruction in Biology, Earth Science and Chemistry to our 7 - 12th grade students.
The Science Teacher's Aide will work closely with our licensed Science Teacher to assist with classroom instruction, help students access learning materials, and provide one-on-one support as needed. This role is vital in ensuring our students continue their academic progress while participating in therapeutic programs at Discovery Ranch South.
Responsibilities include creating a positive learning environment, assisting with lesson delivery, providing administrative support, and contributing to a holistic approach that addresses students' emotional, intellectual, and social needs.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
- Provide evidence of completing 48 college credit hours OR an Associate's Degree
- 21 years of age
- Eligible to work in the USA
- Able to pass a background check
- Able to pass a motor vehicle record check
- Current Utah driver's license (within 30 days of employment)
- CPR & First Aid certification (we provide)
- Aegis certification (we provide)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some relevant college education in science fields
- Experience working with teenagers in an educational or therapeutic setting
