The Consulting Pathologist contributes to our mission by providing scoring analyses of IHC, multiplex immunofluorescence (mIF), and in situ hybridization (e.g. FISH, RNAScope) assays.Must-Have Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):Doctor of Medicine (MD) from an accredited medical college with a specialization in pathology and oncologyCurrent Pennsylvania state medical licensureKey Responsibilities:Expected deliverables would include pathology scoring analysis (H-score, percent score etc.) for various IHC markers (mostly oncology, though other disease states and normal tissue for review as well).Possible research studies with xenografts or patient-derived xenograftsScoring analysis as part of IHC assay being validated for clinical trial useScoring analysis as part of clinical trials (exploratory/ retrospective testing for research purposes and/ or prospective testing for patient enrollment decisions)Possible quantitative image analysis and algorithm development support (use of Halo software) for chromogenic IHC, mIFPossible FISH analysis supportPossible CISH/ISH (RNAScope, BaseScope) analysis supportPossible training of Discovery (internal) staff, or pathologists (internal/external) on new assays developed through Discovery project workProvide expertise on the feasibility of products, viability of product ideas and other questions regarding histology and pathologyRespect the privacy of the personal information of patients, co-workers, and all individuals with whom the Discovery interactsOther duties as assigned by supervisorCompensation:For this role, the Independent Contractor will receive an hourly pay rate for services provided.Location, work hours, and application details:Hybrid – Ideally working onsite (during business hours) at least two days per week at our Newtown, PA location (doesn’t not need be full day) though some work may be performed remotelyFlexible work schedule, contributing 5 – 20 hours per weekWe are actively seeking motivated, dedicated individuals like you to join our thriving organization.
