Discovery Learning Center is looking for a Preschool Teacher to join our team. We are a highly respected Preschool daycare and preschool program that has been in business for over 35 years. We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with children and providing a great learning environment. We are looking for someone who is familiar with the state licensing requirements. If you are interested in working with children, this is the perfect position for you!
We are open from 6:45am - 5:30pm no weekdays .
Responsibilities
·Develop a careful and creative program suitable for infants.
·Plan and create educational activities suited to the age of children
·Assess children’s abilities and their desire to learn and do various tasks
·Provide guidance and instruction that is easy for children to understand and follow along with them
·Work with the staff to ensure that all activities are carried out smoothly and safely
·Ensure that all paperwork is completed each week/session/class so that parents can be informed of their child’s progress.

Responsibilities
- Develop a careful and creative program suitable for children
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.)to teach children
- Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
- Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
- Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
- Track children’s progress and report to parents
- Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and psyche
- Collaborate with other educators
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
Skills
- Proven experience as a Teacher preferred but not required. Must be able to pass required background check. All compensations are based on experience.

Pay: $11.00 - $14.00 per hour
