Homewood is seeking a Restaurant Manager to join the Food & Beverage Department.
Job Summary:
The Restaurant Manager is a leadership role responsible for overseeing daily food and beverage operations at Homewood Mountain Resort's Lake Club - a member focused destination currently in active development. This position requires a strong operational foundation, the ability to build and lead a high caliber service team, and a deep commitment to delivering a personalized, elevated guest experience befitting a world class club.
As the Lake Club continues to develop and grow, this role will be instrumental in establishing service standards, building team culture, and shaping the member experience from the ground up. The ideal candidate is a hands on leader who thrives in a start up environment, communicates clearly across departments, and holds themselves and their team to the highest standards of service, professionalism, and discretion.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operations & Service:
- Lead, supervise, and support front-of-house staff across all outlets, including dining rooms, bar service, and lakeside service areas, ensuring consistent standards throughout each shift
- Manage daily opening and closing procedures, ensuring all areas are properly set up, staffed, and secured
- Monitor floor operations during service periods, stepping in to support the team and resolve member concerns quickly and professionally
- Maintain product knowledge across all food and beverage offerings; ensure staff are trained on menus, specials, and service techniques
- Oversee inventory levels, ordering, and receiving for front-of-house supplies, beverage inventory, and service equipment
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including responsible alcohol service guidelines
- Support special events, member programming, and resort activations as needed
- Complete administrative duties including shift reports, incident documentation, and communication logs
Team Leadership & Development:
- Recruit, train, schedule, and develop a high performing team; provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations
- Build and maintain staffing models that accommodate distinct seasonal demand periods, including both summer lake season and winter resort operations
- Foster a positive, professional team culture aligned with the values of a membership club
- Participate in pre-opening planning, team buildout, and systems setup as the club continues to develop
Member Relations & Standards:
- Cultivate meaningful relationships with club members, learning preferences, names, and expectations to deliver a personalized, anticipatory level of service
- Handle member feedback and service recovery with professionalism, discretion, and a solutions first approach
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding member information, interactions, and any matters related to the club community
- Uphold and enforce club standards related to appearance, uniform, conduct, and overall team professionalism
Program & Standards Development:
- Collaborate with the F&B Director to develop and document service standards, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials as the club establishes its operational foundation
- Contribute to the selection and implementation of POS systems, service tools, and operational technology
- Work cross departmentally with culinary, outdoor pursuits, membership services, events, and residential services teams to ensure a seamless and cohesive member experience across all touchpoints
- Monitor labor costs, scheduling efficiency, and departmental expenses in alignment with budgeted targets
- Collaborate closely with the kitchen team and F&B Director to coordinate service flow, communicate daily specials, and address operational challenges
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a supervisory or management role within food and beverage, hospitality, or club operations
- Experience in a club, luxury resort, or membership based environment strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead a team from the ground up, including experience with pre-opening or opening operations
- Proven ability to deliver a high touch, personalized level of service to a discerning membership
- Strong working knowledge of food service operations, bar programs, and fine dining service standards
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly based on business levels and seasonal demand
- Experience with scheduling, inventory management, SOP development, and basic cost control
- Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic computer applications
- Current Food Handler certification
- Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification
- Must be 21 years of age

- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, standing and walking for extended periods, and lifting/carrying items up to 50 pounds
