Assistant Director – Discovery Kids Riverton
Discovery Kids Riverton is looking for a motivated, organized, and hands-on Assistant Director to join our leadership team! We are seeking an individual who is passionate about early childhood education, enjoys supporting teachers and families, and can help maintain a safe, high-quality learning environment.
Position Summary
The Assistant Director works closely with the Regional Director to oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with state licensing regulations, support staff, provide excellent customer service to families, and assist with the overall success of the center.
Responsibilities
- Support the center with daily center operations.
- Supervise and coach teachers while maintaining a positive team environment.
- Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and company policies.
- Assist with staff scheduling, classroom coverage, and maintaining ratios.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide coaching and support.
- Communicate professionally with families regarding enrollment, attendance, and student progress.
- Assist with enrollment, tours, and onboarding new families.
- Maintain accurate child and staff records.
- Help coordinate center events, trainings, and family engagement activities.
- Assist with food program and health and safety procedures.
- Step into classrooms as needed to support teachers.
- Safely transport children to and from schools and field trips using the center's 14-passenger transit van.
- Complete other administrative and leadership duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (required).
- College degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field (preferred/required based on experience).
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
- National Administrator Credential (NAC).
- Experience working in a licensed childcare or preschool setting.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with computers and childcare management software.
- Must pass all required background screenings.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Transportation Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must be comfortable driving a 14-passenger transit van to safely transport children to and from local schools, field trips, and center activities.
- Must meet all company and insurance requirements for operating company vehicles.
