What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Childcare Floater/ Teacher Assistant position at Discovery Island Learning Academy?
Discovery Island Learning Academy is looking for a dependable, warm, and energetic part-time floater to support our classrooms and daily operations.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children, is flexible, and is willing to step in wherever needed throughout the day.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting teachers in classrooms as needed
- Helping maintain required staff-to-child ratios
- Covering teacher breaks and lunches
- Supporting meals, diapering/toileting, transitions, nap time, and outdoor play
- Helping keep classrooms clean, organized, and safe
- Engaging with children in a patient, positive, and respectful manner
- Following all center policies and Florida childcare requirements
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable and punctual
- Calm and patient with children
- Comfortable working with different age groups
- Able to take direction and work as part of a team
- Willing to complete required background screening and childcare training
Schedule: Approximately 15–25 hours per week, primarily daytime hours.
Pay: Starting at $15/hour.
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 – 25.0 per week
