Position Summary:
Provides Substance Use Disorder Counseling and Substance Use Disorder Education for Detox, Residential, Partial, and/or Intensive Outpatient patients and their families; provides case management services; communicating and working with all clinical staff, utilization management, and referral sources
Essential Job Functions:
- Facilitates treatment from the time of admission through discharge to include group counseling, individual counseling, family counseling, and treatment planning.
- Documentation of all services provided within given timeframes.
- Facilitates educational groups as assigned.
- Participates in crisis management and interventions as needed.
- Completes comprehensive assessment of clients’ substance abuse history and treatment requirements and prepares individualized developmentally appropriate treatment plan.
- Develops and implements complex treatment and discharge plans for clients with substance use disorders for Detox, Residential, Partial, and /or Intensive Outpatient patients and their families.
- Provides case management services.
- Serves as a professional resource to referral sources, other counselors in resolving case problems, and provide clinical supervision and guidance as needed.
- Develops and conducts in-service and continuing education programs for treatment staff.
Knowledge, Education, Experience:
- Minimum: Associate Degree or Bachelor’s degree in a Mental Health of Human Service-related field Preferred
- Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor required
- All Counselors must have current qualification as an alcohol, drug, or substance abuse counselor as required by the licensing board Health and Human Services. (See policy guidelines for state specific certification requirements, equivalents, or reciprocals)
Employment Status: Full time
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 1pm-9:30pm, Friday 7-4:30pm
Work Location: Houston, TX
Compensation Range: $70,000-75,000 salary
