Responsibilities:

• Lead group exercise classes, individual exercise classes for residents at Independent Living Facilities.
• Provide modifications for different fitness levels and abilities
• Maintain a clean and organized workout space before and after classes
• Build rapport with participants to encourage regular attendance 
• Stay current with fitness trends and certifications
• Build relationships with residents and community teams while providing fitness and wellness programming within IL/AL communities.
• Serve as an ambassador for Discovery At Home and help increase awareness of available wellness, therapy, home health, and supportive services.
• Participate in community events, wellness fairs, educational programs, and resident engagement activities.
• Recognize residents who may benefit from additional Discovery At Home services and appropriately connect them with the appropriate team.
• Help strengthen Discovery At Home's presence and relationships within assigned communities.

Qualifications:

• Current certification in group exercise instruction or as a personal trainer through an accredited organization required.
• Previous experience working with older adults preferred.
• Previous experience as a group or individual fitness class instructor preferred.
• Must have knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid guidelines
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must have a current CPR certification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skill proficiency. Ability to use Microsoft Windows.
