Primary Position Objectives
1. Lead efforts to drive city-wide revenue growth by securing new meetings, sports events and destination events that generate overnight stays in Kalispell hotels.
2. Collaborate and communicate regularly with hotel teams and local industry partners to foster alignment and drive seamless service delivery for group events.
3. Clearly and persuasively present Kalispell as a premier group travel destination.
4. Be an organized and independent self-starter with a growth mindset and the ability to achieve business development objectives.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Kalispell, MT, for a Group Sales Manager. The Group Sales Manager will be responsible for driving group sales initiatives, building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, and promoting Kalispell as a premier destination for group events, conference, sports events with the goal of generating room night stays at Kalispell hotels. The role will include creating and executing sales strategies, coordinating with local partners, and identifying potential business opportunities. The manager will also track performance metrics, deliver regular updates on sales activities, and collaborate with the marketing team to align efforts and achieve organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Experience in sales and business development in the tourism or hospitality industries.
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in strategic planning, sales strategy development, and implementing business growth plans.
- Experience with data analysis and performance tracking to measure and report sales activity and results.
- Familiarity with marketing concepts and event promotion strategies to support collaborative campaigns.
- Proficiency with customer relationship management (CRM) tools and software.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Understanding of the tourism and hospitality landscape in Kalispell or Northwest Montana is a plus.
