What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Rater position at Discover International?
We’re partnered with a growing clinical research organization that’s doing meaningful work in psychiatric and neurological studies — and they’re looking to add a Clinical Rater to their expanding team across multiple sites (United States).
What You’ll Be Doing
- Conduct structured assessments and clinical ratings for study participants across multiple indications (MDD, PTSD, ADHD, Alzheimer’s, substance use disorders, etc.).
- Administer and score clinical efficacy scales in line with study protocols, sponsor conventions, and GCP/ICH guidelines.
- Partner closely with investigators and site staff to ensure accuracy, data quality, and compliance.
- Participate in rater calibration, investigator meetings, and study-related training and certification activities.
- Handle subject crises with professionalism and minimize placebo response through strong clinical interviewing skills.
- Support patient engagement and maintain a professional presence in all sponsor and patient-facing interactions.
What We’re Looking For
- Education: PsyD (or Master’s/Doctorate) required — PsyD candidates with relevant clinical experience will be considered.
- Experience: 2 years of clinical research rating experience preferred (or a mix of clinical assessment, psychometric, or academic research experience).
- Certification: Current sponsor certification(s) required.
Skills:
- Strong DSM diagnostic and clinical interviewing skills.
- Knowledge of FDA, GCP, ICH, HIPAA, and IRB requirements.
