Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Perform therapeutic interventions including trigger point therapy, manual therapy techniques, and modalities to alleviate pain and improve function.
- Support patients through exercises designed to enhance strength, flexibility, and mobility, ensuring proper technique and safety.
- Monitor patient progress, document responses to treatments, and communicate observations to the supervising therapist for ongoing plan adjustments.
- Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy exercises, postural correction, discharge planning, and injury prevention strategies.
- Maintain accurate medical terminology records, update care plans regularly, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across inpatient units, outpatient clinics, home health visits, or skilled nursing facilities to optimize patient recovery pathways.
- Assist chiropractor and front desk with patient flow, SoftWave treatments, and red light therapy treatments
Qualifications
- Proven experience in physiotherapy or as a Physical Therapy Assistant within inpatient settings or skilled nursing facilities.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and the principles of physiotherapy.
- Hands-on experience with trigger point therapy and other manual therapy techniques.
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes and outpatient rehabilitation protocols.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program is required; current licensure or registration must be maintained where applicable.
