Duties
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional models, to recover and transport vehicles efficiently and safely
- Conduct automotive diagnostics and mechanical assessments to determine the best recovery approach
- Load and unload vehicles carefully, ensuring proper securing techniques to prevent damage during transit
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients and assisting with roadside needs
- Manage conflict situations professionally when dealing with distressed vehicle owners or challenging scenarios
- Use automotive repair knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues or relay necessary repairs to mechanics
- Maintain accurate logs of all recoveries, loads, and dispatch activities for operational records
Requirements
- Proven experience operating tow trucks, especially flatbed or heavy-duty models
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on automotive diagnostics and repair skills
- Familiarity with manual transmissions and automotive systems including engines, brakes, and electrical components
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record; experience in commercial driving preferred
- Mechanical experience or mechanic background is highly desirable
- Ability to load, unload, and secure vehicles safely using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or winches
- Excellent conflict management skills combined with a customer-focused attitude
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, perform manual tasks, and work outdoors in various weather conditions
