Role Description The Accounting Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Valparaiso, IN. This role oversees day-to-day accounting operations, including managing the general ledger, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and ensuring accurate and timely posting of journal entries. The Accounting Manager will monitor cash flow, support budgeting and forecasting, reconcile accounts, and manage fixed asset records. Responsibilities also include implementing and maintaining internal controls, coordinating with external accountants or auditors, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies. The role will partner with operational and leadership teams to provide financial insights, support decision-making, and drive process improvements within the accounting function.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Financial Statements and Finance, with the ability to interpret results and provide actionable insights.
- Proficiency in Journal Entries (Accounting) and general ledger management, including month-end and year-end close processes.
- Experience managing Fixed Assets, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and related reporting.
- Demonstrated Analytical Skills, including variance analysis, budgeting support, and data-driven problem solving.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Excel; familiarity with construction or home improvement industry accounting is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is preferred but not required.
- Experience in an accounting leadership or senior accounting role, with the ability to supervise and mentor team members.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective, professional communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams on-site.
