Quality Assurance (IT) - Entry Level

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of Quality Assurance Specialist. This position involves several areas of responsibility necessary to ensure that our software is of the highest quality.

• Testing the reliability, capability, and performance of software before it is used in production.
• Managing the process of certifying software and validating data with outside companies.
• Testing existing software to isolate and reproduce bugs and other problems.
• Consistently improving the testing process by building automated tests to replace repetitive, manual tasks and ensure future testing is thorough and reproducible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Willingness to learn new computer systems, tools, and scripting languages.
• Strong documentation skills and ability to create thorough, repeatable testing plans.
• Perform manual testing for new features, including testing at store locations.
• Identify, reproduce, and thoroughly and accurately document bugs.
• Proactively review software and testing workflows to identify areas for improvement and close gaps in test coverage.
• Build automated tests for core functions and use SQL to validate data.
• Work independently and as part of a team to test and support software.
• Work on multiple projects with changing priorities and take on additional duties as assigned to support department goals.
• High level of drive and personal responsibility.
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Payment Card Industry (PCI) policies.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent working experience.
• Experience in a retail environment with retail systems.
• Advanced computer skills, including familiarity with command line interfaces.
• Basic understanding of software quality assurance processes.

Preferred Skills and Responsibilities:

• Web development skills with SQL, PHP, HTML, JQuery and Javascript
• Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.
• Willing and able to adapt to company needs as time passes.
• Ability to work with little supervision and deliver on agreed deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
