Overview
PART TIME: 9:45am-2:00 PM TUESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY - We are seeking a motivated and friendly Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional service to our customers while efficiently handling transactions and maintaining a welcoming store environment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail setting. Discount Central is a liquidation store that gets in store returns and overstock items and sells them at a huge discount to the public. Every item is inspected and tested before being put onto the shelves.

Duties
- Operate the cash register and process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Greet customers as they come in the door.
- Cleaning the store including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning the bathrooms.
- Processing inventory at the front desk whenever the store is slow. Training will be done on how to process inventory.
- Conduct product demonstrations to engage customers and promote sales.
- Assist customers with inquiries, providing knowledgeable answers and solutions.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring all merchandise is properly displayed.
- Utilize retail math skills for accurate pricing, discounts, and change calculations.
- Handle customer complaints with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring satisfaction.
- Supervise junior staff when necessary, providing guidance and support in daily operations.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when answering calls or assisting customers over the phone.
Experience
- Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations is highly advantageous.
- Strong basic math skills for handling transactions and making change.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
- Experience in retail sales or product demonstrations is a plus.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
