DisciplePress — a growing memorial printing company specializing in high-quality funeral programs, cards, and custom artwork — is seeking an experienced Print Shop Manager to lead our production team and oversee all day-to-day print operations. Hours are 9am-5pm Monday-Friday.
About the Role
As Print Shop Manager, you will be responsible for supervising the print room staff, managing workflow and job scheduling, ensuring top-quality production, and maintaining equipment readiness. This position requires hands-on print production experience, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to maintain a fast-paced, detail-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all print shop operations including printing, cutting, folding, and finishing.
- Supervise, train, and schedule print room employees.
- Ensure all jobs are completed accurately, on time, and meet quality standards.
- Manage workflow priorities to optimize efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Maintain and troubleshoot printing, folding, and finishing equipment (e.g., Fiery, Morgana, Xerox).
- Track inventory of paper, toner, and supplies; coordinate restocking as needed.
- Collaborate with customer service and design teams to ensure production timelines are met.
- Enforce safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of print production or print shop management experience (commercial printing preferred).
- Strong understanding of digital print equipment and finishing processes.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a small team.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive under tight deadlines with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Fiery RIP, Xerox, or similar print systems is a plus.
