What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prevention Specialist position at DISC Village?
Essential Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments throughout the client’s engagement with the program.
- Implement prevention counseling curriculum to appropriate fidelity levels. Develop an individualized prevention counseling service plan.
- Utilizing varied treatment models to assist clients in building resiliency.
- Monitor care to determine if additional services are needed.
- Maintain caseload files and ensure all required documentation is completed.
- Complete all reports and documentation required within appropriate time frames.
- Research and plan education, prevention, and social skills development presentations.
- Foster positive relationships with the assigned school to provide effective services to students.
Pay: $21 hourly (Bachelor's degree), $23 hourly (Master's degree)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, criminal justice, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, health education, or a related field that includes the study of human behavior and development.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with adults with behavioral health needs and child welfare involvement.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a major in another field and a minimum of three years of experience working with adults with substance use disorders.
- Must have a valid Florida driver’s license and applicable state-required car insurance.
