Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator to join our construction team, bringing expertise in cost analysis, material estimation, and project budgeting. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive bids for commercial construction projects, interpreting technical drawings, and managing all aspects of cost estimation. Your proactive approach will ensure project profitability while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. Responsibilities

• Write estimates accurately estimate material requirements and labor costs.
• Develop comprehensive project estimates using estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam, ensuring precision in pricing and cost control.
• Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers through effective negotiation to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
• Manage multiple estimates simultaneously by preparing detailed budgets, tracking costs, and adjusting estimates as project scopes evolve.
• Analyze material costs and quantities from blueprints to determine accurate pricing strategies while identifying opportunities for cost savings.
• Interpret construction contracts and manage project documentation to ensure estimates align with contractual obligations.
• Communicate clearly with clients and internal teams regarding project scope, budget expectations, and potential cost implications throughout the bidding process.

Skills

• Proficiency in estimating software
• Strong ability to understand construction
• Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable terms with vendors and subcontractors.
• Extensive experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction sector.
• Deep understanding of construction industry practices including cost management, material estimating, and project budgeting.
• Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite—especially Excel spreadsheets—for data analysis, cost tracking, and report generation.
• Knowledge of construction site operations, contracts, project management principles, and construction management software.
• Ability to effectively communicate with clients, team members, suppliers, and stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution.

Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
