Job Summary
Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Department of Delaware is seeking a dedicated and organized Hospital Service Coordinator to coordinate transportation requests for Veterans receiving care as the Department of Veterans Affairs, Wilmington, DE Medical Center, Georgetown, and Dover Clinic. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, be detail orientated and have experience in program management, ensuring that services are delivered effectively and meet the needs of our clients. This role requires a compassionate individual who can assess transportation requests for Veterans while maintaining a focus on quality care and compliance.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise daily operations of transportation programs, ensuring adherence to established guidelines and standards.
- Schedule transportation for Veterans traveling to medical appointments at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Wilmington, Delaware Medical Center.
- Schedule transportation for veterans to-and-from the Sussex County Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Georgetown.
- Schedule transportation for veterans to-and-from the Cumberland County Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Vineland, NJ.
- Effectively communicate and work with volunteer drivers.
- Manage relationships with Veterans, Caregivers, and VA Staff to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Oversee processes related to program management, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently.
- Conduct assessments of transportation requests to schedule or triage appropriately, while identifying needs and volunteer driver needs.
- Develop weekly and monthly driving schedules for New Castle County and Sussex County/Georgetown CBOC.
- Email weekly schedules to volunteer drivers in a timely fashion.
- Provide administrative support including documentation, reporting, and compliance monitoring to ensure regulatory requirements are met.
- Engage in program development initiatives that promote continuous improvement in service quality.
Experience
- Exhibits strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Proven experience in customer experience.
- Strong background in program management and resource allocation.
- Familiarity with working with individuals who have differing communication abilities is highly desirable.
- Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations of Veterans & Caregivers.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
