Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving and a strong commitment to promoting independence and dignity for those they serve.
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide patient care and support in various settings including group homes, assisted living facilities, and home care environments.
- Monitor clients' vital signs and overall health, ensuring any changes are reported to appropriate personnel.
- Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, including medication administration and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive engagement, particularly for those with Alzheimer's or dementia.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks as needed.
- Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a trusting relationship with clients.
- Assist with mobility needs using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Document client progress and any significant changes in behavior or health status.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid, CPR, patient observation techniques, and vital sign monitoring is essential.
- Familiarity with caregiving practices in home health, hospice care, nursing homes, or long-term care settings is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for client mobility assistance.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.

Job Type: Temporary
Pay: $176.12 - $212.10 per day
