Position Overview:
The Case Specialist is responsible for managing and supporting disability benefit claims from the post-intake stage through final determination. This role involves direct communication with clients, collection and organization of medical records and legal documents, and coordination with legal professionals, healthcare providers, and government agencies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to providing exceptional service to clients during a challenging time in their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of disability claims, ensuring timely progression through each stage.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding their ongoing claims.
- Collect and organize medical records, treatment histories, and other supporting documentation.
- Assist clients in completing required forms and paperwork accurately and completely.
- Communicate with healthcare providers and government agencies to obtain records and updates.
- Update and maintain client information in the case management system.
- Track deadlines and ensure timely submission of documentation to meet SSA/VA or legal requirements.
- Work closely with the Executive Assistant and Legal Representative to prepare cases.
- Provide regular updates and compassionate support to clients throughout their case journey.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure all documentation complies with HIPAA and internal privacy standards.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in case management, legal support, or administrative coordination preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Experience in legal, medical, or social services fields is a plus.
