Duties
- Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling of various dog breeds
- Handle dogs safely and confidently using animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and security during grooming procedures
- Trim pet nails carefully and accurately to promote healthy paws and prevent discomfort
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized and well-maintained
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming preferences, pet health considerations, and after-care instructions
- Assist with pet care routines such as ear cleaning, coat conditioning, and minor veterinary-related tasks when needed
- Support kennel cleaning, pet sitting, and heavy lifting tasks as required to ensure a safe environment for animals and staff
Qualifications
- Proven experience in pet grooming, including dog handling and animal restraint techniques
- Knowledge of pet coat styling, pet nail trimming, and general animal care practices
- Background in veterinary experience or veterinary technician/assistant roles is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills for engaging with pet owners professionally and empathetically
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely as part of routine kennel or grooming tasks
- Experience with animal handling across different species such as dogs, cats, or equines is a plus
- Customer service skills to provide a positive experience for clients and their pets
