Asphalt Paving Crew Supervisor

Job Overview
The Asphalt Paving Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of asphalt paving, maintenance, and repair. This role involves preparing surfaces, applying asphalt materials, operating paving equipment, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. This role requires leadership skills, precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work with paving crews to meet project specifications and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Asphalt Paving Crew to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency
• Prepare job sites by grading, leveling, and cleaning surfaces prior to paving
• Lay, spread, and compact asphalt using hand tools and heavy equipment
• Operate machinery such as pavers, rollers, skid steers, and compactors
• Perform asphalt repairs including patching, crack sealing, and resurfacing
• Monitor material consistency, temperature, and application techniques
• Ensure proper thickness, alignment, and slope according to project specifications
• Inspect finished work to ensure quality and durability standards are met
• Work collaboratively with crew members, foremen, and project managers
• Follow project plans, blueprints, and Project Manager instructions
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety regulations
• Assist with cleanup as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 5 years of experience in asphalt paving, road construction, or related field
• Extensive knowledge of asphalt materials, paving methods, and repair techniques
• Ability to operate paving and compaction equipment
• Strong understanding of safety practices in construction environments
• Ability to read basic plans, grades, and measurements
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with commercial or roadway paving projects
• Familiarity with DOT standards and specifications
• Ability to operate small construction equipment
• OSHA safety training or certification

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
