General Carpenter

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated General Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing a wide range of carpentry tasks across residential and commercial projects, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from framing and drywall installation to remodeling and restoration work. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in carpentry, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional results.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately execute projects.
• Measure, cut, assemble, and install wood and other construction materials using hand tools and power tools for woodworking.
• Perform framing, door hanging, siding installation, drywall finishing, caulking, stucco application, and trim carpentry with precision.
• Operate woodworking machines safely to produce high-quality wood components for various projects.
• Assist with rebar installation, plastering, water damage restoration, mold remediation, and other specialized tasks as needed.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations such as power tool safety protocols and proper heavy lifting techniques.
• Collaborate with project managers and team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining quality standards.

Skills

• Proven experience in construction estimating, blueprint reading, and interpreting technical drawings.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools for woodworking, woodworking machines, and metal stud framing.
• Strong background in residential carpentry including flooring installation, fixture installation, remodeling, and restoration industry experience.
• Knowledge of wood construction materials such as siding, drywall, stucco, and water damage restoration materials.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during tasks like rebar installation or mold remediation.
• Familiarity with construction site procedures including safety protocols for power tools and working at heights.
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with hands-on experience in drywall finishing, caulking, door hanging, flooring installation, and other carpentry specialties.

Pay: $25.69 - $30.94 per hour
