Full-Time Fitness Coach
Dirigo Fitness | Falmouth, Maine
Pay: $18.50–$37.00 per hour, based on experience and responsibilities
Build a Meaningful Career in Coaching
Dirigo Fitness is hiring a hardworking, compassionate, and growth-minded fitness coach who wants to build a real career while making a difference in people’s lives.
We primarily help adults—especially women in their 40s, 50s, and beyond—build strength, improve their health, lose weight, and feel more confident. Many of our clients are navigating menopause, joint concerns, busy schedules, or discomfort with traditional gyms.
They need more than someone who can demonstrate exercises. They need a coach who listens, builds trust, and helps them stay consistent.
What You’ll Do
- Coach one-on-one and semi-private training sessions
- Modify exercises around clients’ goals and limitations
- Build strong relationships and deliver an excellent client experience
- Help onboard new members and guide them through their first 90 days
- Conduct progress check-ins and InBody assessments
- Follow up with clients for accountability and retention
- Assist with social media and community outreach
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming gym
- Follow systems, communicate clearly, and take ownership
Who We’re Looking For
You may be a great fit if you:
- Care deeply about helping women improve their health and confidence
- Communicate with warmth, professionalism, and emotional intelligence
- Are hardworking, dependable, punctual, and organized
- Take initiative without waiting to be asked
- Accept feedback and want to improve
- Enjoy helping adults who may feel intimidated by traditional gyms
- Want to build a long-term career in fitness
- Want to grow with a close-knit, community-focused team
Experience is helpful, but attitude, effort, character, and coachability matter just as much.
Schedule
Applicants must be available for:
- Early mornings Monday through Friday
- Late afternoons and evenings Monday through Friday
- Occasional Saturdays
Typical working windows are:
- 5:15 AM–11:00 AM
- 3:45 PM–7:30 PM
This is a split-shift role. The position may begin around 20 hours per week and is designed to grow into a full-time career opportunity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, health science, physical education, or a related field required
- Personal-training certification from NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, or a similar organization preferred
- CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain it
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Coaching experience preferred
- Comfortable using technology and communication platforms
What We Offer
- $18.50–$37.00 per hour, depending on responsibilities
- Performance and retention bonus opportunities
- Paid continuing education and internal development
- Education in women’s health, menopause, behavior change, and strength training
- Professional mentorship and regular feedback
- On-site gym access
- Opportunities for advancement into client success, onboarding, marketing, operations, and leadership
- A supportive, collaborative, and community-focused team
