Position Summary
The Laboratory Technician is responsible for supporting the cannabis extraction and post-processing operations. This role focuses on ethanol extraction, solvent recovery, distillation, vape cartridge filling, laboratory maintenance, quality control, and equipment cleaning while following all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe and compliant laboratory environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform ethanol extraction of cannabis biomass according to established SOPs.
Assist with solvent recovery, distillation and post-processing operations.
Operate, monitor, and clean extraction and laboratory equipment.
Fill, cap, inspect, and package vape cartridges while maintaining strict quality standards.
Maintain accurate production records, batch documentation, and inventory logs.
Perform routine cleaning, sanitation, and preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Conduct quality control inspections on raw materials, in-process products and finished products.
Ensure all work complies with company SOPs, state regulations, OSHA standards and safety protocols.
Monitor production processes and identify any deviations or equipment issues.
Maintain a clean, organized and compliant laboratory environment.
Work collaboratively with laboratory and production staff to meet production goals.
Qualifications
Required
Exceptional attention to detail.
Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Ability to accurately follow written procedures and maintain detailed documentation.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Preferred
Previous laboratory experience.
Experience with cannabis extraction, distillation, or post-processing.
Manufacturing or pharmaceutical production experience.
Experience working in a regulated environment.
Familiarity with laboratory equipment and preventative maintenance.
